Canadian, Irish and Portuguese (probably) with a generous dash of Singaporean

I am writing this post on my notebook in our cabin on our boat parked at Halong Bay. We are spending the night at Halong Bay before moving back to Hanoi tomorrow and departing for Sapa on the same day. I will be copying this post ad verbatim onto the blog tomorrow after we reach Hanoi and find an internet cafe.

“I’m going to use this to decapitate you!”

Kayaking in Halong Bay was good fun. It was especially hilarious watching our dysfunctional duo, Chun Wee and Zihao, trying to coordinate their kayak rowing.They are absolutely cute. However hard they tried to paddle forward, they would muddle up their timing and would end up going in circles. Chun Wee would command Zihao to do something and Zihao would do the opposite. The otherwise tranquil silence of Halong Bay was pierced by Chun Wee’s frustrated calls and Zihao’s protests at Chun Wee’s reprimands. “When we get back, I’m going to use this to decapitate you!” exclaimed Chun Wee in annoyance, shaking his paddle in indignation at Zihao.

Day 4

This is Day 4 and I’m making my first post. There are a couple of reasons for this: one, WordPress is oddly slow in Vietnam; two, we have been on a boat in Halong Bay for the past two days and have thus not had Internet access.
