July 2, 2008Sitting down in the middle of ancient ruins playing a game of bridge is a pretty surreal feeling. Today was a pretty relaxed day (which explains why I am blogging so early at 7pm) as we had only a few remaining ruins to visit and hence we had plenty of time for each temple we are visiting today at the Angkor Wat Archaeological Park. Diablo II was inspired by Angkor
July 2, 2008We visited the rest of the temple ruins along the eastern side of Angkor today. This particular ruin at Preah Khan reminded me of the causeway that leads into the Chaos Sanctuary in Act IV of Diablo II.

July 2, 2008I have not updated for a very long time. The reason is a combination of fatigue, disease (fortunately the worst effects staved off with the wonders of modern medication) and the 2 antiquated computers which compose our current guesthouse’s free Internet service consistently being occupied by angmohs. at last rain
July 2, 2008The rain that fell this evening was the heaviest I have seen since arriving in Cambodia. Previously there were a few extremely brief and light drizzles but no downpours. It was great to have some rain because the past few days were extremely hot and more rain means that our boat ride to Battambang on Thursday will be smoother too.
