There is an old hairy Caucasian man with his young Cambodian toy girl using the computer besides mine now. I can’t help but notice them because they are acting very intimately in front of me. What the heck. And apparently he is a published author. He was showing his homepage to his “girlfriend” and I just happened to screen his computer.

Anyway I disgress. Today is and will probably be the most relaxing day in our entire 12 days in Cambodia, although Chun Wee and Zihao might beg to differ. We woke up late and spent the whole morning walking up and down the beach, before having a sumptuous seafood lunch and going for a dip in the afternoon till nightfall.

We explored the entire stretch of beach, climbing up and down rocks and finding our way along steep cliffs with slippery and sharp rocks at their bottoms. What we did reminded me of Lord of the Flies minus the blood and violence. Little children finding their way in the wilderness.

Playing with sand and diving headlong into the rolling waves were particularly fun. I never knew such seemingly mundane and childish play can be so rewarding. I am probably living the childhood I never experienced.

I think Westerners have an obsession with beaches. So far the amount of Westerners here outnumber the Asians greatly and my guesthouse is filled with Caucasians. And we were mistaken to be Koreans by the locals here.

Tomorrow promises to be a day of smog and fitful sleep. We will be traveling from Sihanoukville to Siem Reap via Phnom Penh in the day. Hopefully when we reach there we will be able to find accommodation. Time for a good night’s rest.

I think I will miss this place after I leave.
